Chef Jennifer Elwood
Chef Jennifer Elwood is a Lakeland native, born and raised! Growing up in a family full of Chefs, it was natural for Jennifer to choose this as her career path. Both of her parents were chefs, with her mom owning a catering business in Lakeland for 20+ years, and her Aunt was a cake decorator. The family tradition remains strong, with her daughter already showing a passion for baking.
Along with a Culinary Arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu, Jen has many years of cooking and baking experience. Jen spent ten years with her family's catering company managing various corporate and private functions, from a personal chef for two people to dinner for 10,000 people. She also owned a food truck offering edible cookie dough, pastries, coffees & deli sandwiches. Before joining the Terrace team, she ran a custom cake business, skills she uses in her role with us today. She offers a menu and custom celebration and wedding cakes for any occasion you want to celebrate with us!
With love for cooking all things, she has a strong passion for both savory and sweet dishes and likes to tie one with the other when cooking and baking.
Jen's favorite thing on the current dessert menu is the 5 Spice Orange Carrot Cake. It's not your average carrot cake. It has a lot of warming spices, scented with fresh orange zest, and she uses pineapple in the batter to add natural sweetness and keep the cake moist.
